'The Poetics of Time-Space' is an original work of sound and music created by Montreal artist Jeremy Young, making use of extracted samples from the Archives Internationales de Musique Populaire (AIMP), which is part of the Musée d'Ethnographie de Genève (MEG) in Switzerland.
'The Poetics of Time-Space' is a series of collages, placing the focus on the sonic qualities of the analog technology used to capture and preserve these recordings, the interstitial moments before and after songs are sung, and the often humorous collage of instrumental and vocal events coming together across impossible distances of time and space.
Released in collaboration with the MEG, 'The Poetics of Time-Space' is the third release in their series dedicated to the publication of works proposed by artists exploring the sound archives of the MEG, in terms of a specific sound parameter.
