All Shadows And Deliverance is the drone/noise project of Fré Decruyenaere. As label head of Usain Bolt Records and co-organizer of the infamous NOISEFEST festival in Kortrijk, he’s been on the forefront of the Belgian noise-scene for quite some time now.
Having only released a handful of small-run releases on tape and cdr since 2008, All Shadows And Deliverance can hardly be called a prolific project. This however is countered by the fact that all output is of an extremely high quality. Each track is the result of a very long period of composing, re- and decomposing, rethinking and rerecording. Include the fact that Decruyenaere has a background in noisy post-rock music as a member of Belgian cultband Galatasaray and you end up with an artist with a rich and varied musical history who does not settle for anything less than exactly what he has in mind.
What’s on his mind though, isn’t exactly uplifting. partus takes you on a trip through a cold and loveless world with subdued and repressed fears and demons. It takes you back to the classic Swedish death industrial sound that many loved and loathed in the 1990s (think Cold Meat Industry). The added field recordings, razorsharp feedback, machinery noises and vicious vocals (courtesy of Jenci Vervaeke of VVOVNDS) only add to the hellish and dark atmosphere.
With this new album, All Shadows And Deliverance firmly puts itself in the same filthy corner of the musical spectrum where people like PRURIENT, PHARMAKON and BRIGHTER DEATH NOW reign supreme.
While All Shadows And Deliverance is a solo beast in the studio, it becomes a fearsome duo on stage when Pol Isaac (also of GALATASARAY) joins in on the fun. Plans are being made to hit the road with this combo in 2016, so beware.
